Kojima in Okayama Prefecture is the birthplace of Japanese jeans and remains the heart of Japan denim industry. ALLBLUE is based here.
Why Kojima
The area has been a textile region since the 1600s. Cotton farming, indigo dyeing, and weaving were established before denim arrived. When the region shifted to denim in the 1960s, it had generations of expertise.
Everything in One Place
Rope dyeing, weaving, finishing, washing, and sewing facilities – all within 30 minutes of each other. This enables faster communication, easier quality control, and shorter lead times.
What Makes It Special
Attention to detail in every variable. Vintage shuttle looms weave slowly but produce denser, more textured selvedge fabric. Small-lot flexibility makes Japanese mills ideal for new brands and capsule collections.
